SUGAR LAND--August 26, 2020--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--More than 3,900 industrial plants currently lie in the path of the powerful Hurricane Laura. As of this afternoon, 321 individual process units in chemical, power, refining and oil & gas facilities are offline due to the quickly approaching storm. Just more than 8,440 megawatts (MW) of power generation have been taken offline, 2.3 million barrels per day (BBL/d) of refining capacity are offline, along with 22.8 million pounds per year (lbs/year) of ethylene capacity.
