SUGAR LAND--August 31, 2020--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--While total U.S. power generation declined 5% year-over-year in the first half of 2020, the amount of power generated from natural gas increased nearly 55,000 gigawatt-hours (GWh), or 9%, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Outside of the first six months of the year, U.S. gas-fired generation hit a record on July 28.
