Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial recently recommenced operations at the former Agrenco biodiesel plant in Caarapó, Brazil, after a decade of disuse. Following an investment of R$219 million (US$39.26 million) the plant will produce up to 400 tons per day 457 cubic meters per day) of biodiesel from soybean and beef tallow. The company also plans to process 1,500 tons of soybean per day to produce 300 tons of soy oil and 1,200 tons of soy meal for animal feed per day.
