Goiás Bioenergia recently announced its intentions to reactivate the former Usina São Paulo ethanol plant in Porteirão, four years after its closure. As part of a R265 million ($49.78 million) investment, the company plans to commence operations of the 1.2 million-ton-per-year sugarcane crushing plant during the final months of the 2021 harvest season. Prior to this, the site will be subject to extensive maintenance and equipment additions in order to start up the 600,000-liter-per-day ethanol distillery.
