Trans Adriatic Pipeline Starts European Commercial Operations, an Industrial Info Market Brief

The 878-kilometer (km) Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), a part of a 3,500-km southern gas corridor, began moving commercial natural gas supplies to the European Union on December 31. The pipeline, supplied by the large Shah Deniz 2 gas field in the Caspian Sea, has an initial capacity of 10 billion cubic meters per year (bcm/y) for the Greek, Bulgarian, Albanian and Italian markets and is expandable to 20 bcm/y with construction of two additional compressor stations.
