Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) (Little Rock, Arkansas) is attempting to meet summer 2007 peaking demand with 60 megawatts of natural gas-fired simple cycle combustion turbine/generator sets. A new power station will be constructed south of Elkins in Washington County, Arkansas, off Arkansas Highway 16 and Springston Ford Road, costing about $30 million.
