Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--An expansion project at a General Mills Incorporated (NYSE:GIS) (Minneapolis, Minnesota) facility in Hannibal, Missouri, is on schedule after being delayed by wet weather earlier this year. The $55 million project entails the construction of a 55,000-square-foot building to accommodate new production lines and provide for future productions over a three-year period.
Fru-Con Construction Corporation (Ballwin, Missouri) as the owner's representative, contracted Klinger & Associates (Quincy, Illinois) and Bleigh Construction Company (Hannibal, Missouri) to provide design and construction services for the new building. General Mills awarded several contracts for process equipment installation.
The Hannibal plant has been in operation since 1972 and employs more than 800 workers manufacturing over 120 products.
