MOL owns the three existing refineries in Hungary. MOL is the only company involved in crude oil refining in the country, with crude oil distillation performed only at the company's Duna Refinery. The Tisza Refinery, which began production in 1972, shutdown its atmospheric distillation capacities in 2001 and currently produces only desulfurization and petrol blending products. The production site is compossed of three processing units: Gas Oil HD, Claus and MTBE.The Tisza refinery halted production in May on the 13,900-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Gas Oil hydrotreater for 30 non-production days to perform maintenace and cleaning work.
During the second quarter of 2013, the refinery will be performing a planned overhaul. The 600 BBL/d MTBE, Claus and 13,900-BBL/d Gas Oil Hydrotreater units will come down for routine inspection, cleaning and maintenance activities and will be back online after 30 non-production days.
