Possible LNG Terminal in Lebanon

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Potter and Partners (New York, New York) has been hired by the World Bank (Washington, D.C.) to develop a prefeasibility study to determine the suitability of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Lebanon.

The goal of constructing the LNG terminal in Lebanon is modernize the country's Power Industry and decrease reliance on fuel imports. Lebanon has two power plants. One is fuelled by natural gas supplied from Egypt via Syria, while the other burns diesel. The proposed terminal will supply LNG to both power plants.

Upon approval, the World Bank will present the project to the government and help obtain the required approvals and permits.
