Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the first grid connection on November 22, 2012, the first unit (Unit 1) of Hebei Construction and Investment Corporation's (HCIC) (Shijiazhuang, Hebei) 600-megawatt (MW) Renqiu Cogeneration Power Project passed the 168-hour, full-load, continuous trial operation and was put into commercial operation on January 29, 2013, according to an announcement from Power Construction Corporation (PCCC) (Beijing), the project contractor, on February 2, 2013.
During the trial operation, various technical indicators of the steam generating unit were rated at "sound and excellent" levels, the average load rate reached 110%, and the vibrations measured at various bearings are less than 7 dmm.
As reported, Unit 1 of the Renqiu Cogeneration Power Project is the first 350-megawatt (MW), direct blowing supercritical cogeneration unit erected in China. Construction of the unit kicked off in May 2010. Hebei Electric Power Design Institute (HEPDI) (Shijiazhuang, Hebei) and Hebei Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (HEPC1) (Shijiazhuang, Hebei), two subsidiaries of the PCCC, are responsible for the engineering and construction of the unit, respectively.
The Renqiu Cogeneration Power Project, located in Renqiu City of North China's Hebei province, plans to have four 300-MW cogeneration units to provide heating service and industrial steam supply for Renqiu's downtown area and China National Petroleum Corporation's (CNPC) Renqiu Oil Refining Project in two phases. Of which, two cogeneration units, together with associated desulfurization and denitration devices, will be built in Phase I with a total investment of about $480 million.
Presently, HEPDI and HEPC1 are working closely with the project owner and related parties for the commissioning of Unit 2. Upon completion, the project will solve the shortage in local heat supply in winter and will supply quality clean and environmental electricity to the local society.
