U.S. Heavy Manufacturing Set for More than $7 Billion in Kickoffs

March 20, 2024--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Players in the U.S. heavy-manufacturing sector are preparing to build out capacity to better serve major industrial markets, including those for construction, farming and robotics equipment. Industrial Info is tracking $7.4 billion worth of U.S.-based heavy-manufacturing projects that are set to begin construction in the second quarter, including a $5.5 billion battery-manufacturing campus from LG Energy Solution (LGES) (Seoul, South Korea), a subsidiary of LG Corporation; nearly half of the remaining investment value is attributed to projects to develop machinery and equipment that service various industries.
JCB Manufacturing trails only LG in the investment value of its second-quarter kickoffs, although this is attributed entirely to a single project. Other companies are expanding active plants, such as Wacker Neuson, Kooima AG, Osmundson Manufacturing Company, Air Products and Chemicals Incorporated (NYSE:APD), Goshen Engineering Incorporated and Robert Bosch GmbH.
