Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) show the cumulative production of new energy (electric) vehicles (NEVs) in China reached 13.015 million units from January through October 2025, a year-over-year increase of 33.1%. In October, production stood at 1.772 million units, up 21.1% year-over-year.
Addressing this performance, CAAM analyzed in its "October Automobile Industry Economic Operation" report that with the diminishing marginal effect of growth rates and the optimization of industrial structure, China's NEV industry is transitioning smoothly from a period of purely "scale expansion" to one of "technological deepening."
Industrial Info is tracking 75 projects across China, worth about US$5.77 billion, aimed at manufacturing parts for NEVs. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Industrial Manufacturing Project Database can view a full list of the project reports.
