U.S. Regulators Partially Approve Cactus II Pipeline Proposed Rate Structure
- U.S. energy regulators on Monday partially approved the rate structure and terms of service for Plains All American Pipeline LP's (NYSE:PAA) Cactus II crude and condensate line from the Permian basin to the Corpus Christi, Texas, area. While regulators approved most conditions put forth by Plains, they declined to approve a request for the option to hold another open season to solicit shipper commitments for up to 90% of the pipeline's capacity on the expiration or early termination of service agreements. - Southern Company (NYSE:SO) announced that it has completed the addition of a second combined-cycle unit at its power station in Mankato, Minnesota, which is now capable of generating 760 megawatts. (Project 30001038) (PR Newswire)

Research Firm: Permian Gas Flaring Hits Record Highs
- Burned off or vented natural gas in the Permian Basin is projected at a new high of 661 million cubic feet per day in June, way up from previous record highs of about 450 million cubic feet a day late last year, the Norwegian research firm Rystad Energy said Tuesday. (Houston Chronicle)
