BP's Tiber development is in Block 102 of the Gulf's Keathley Canyon, one of the most heavily explored areas of the Gulf. TechnipFMC's role in the Tiber development will make use of its "iEPCI" (integrated Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) model, which streamlines several components for subsea oil and gas projects into a single delivery. In a press release, Jonathan Landes, the president of subsea development for TechnipFMC, said his company is "realizing the potential of repeatable and systematic delivery of integrated projects within an existing basin."
Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Oil & Gas Project Database can learn more about the Tiber development--including capacities, investment values and necessary equipment--from a detailed list of project reports.
TechnipFMC executives said their work in the Tiber Field will leverage technology and equipment already in use at BP's subsea development in the Kaskida Field, also in the Keathley Canyon, which includes high-pressure pumps, umbilicals, 20,000-pound-per-square-inch (psi) trees and manifolds, and other critical components. First oil production currently is scheduled for 2029, according to BP. Subscribers can learn more from a detailed project report.
The Tiber and Kaskida fields are among the oldest, deepest, highest-pressure locations for drilling in the Gulf, exploration of which has become technologically possible only in recent years. BP and TechnipFMC expect water depths at Tiber and Kaskida to reach up to 5,000 and 5,900 feet, respectively.
TechnipFMC's other work for BP in the Gulf includes the development of the Mad Dog Field, for which it is crafting up to four water-injection wells and related infrastructure to service BP's 140,000-barrel-per-day Argos FPU (floating production unit). Construction on the wells is expected to begin in the coming months. Subscribers can read detailed reports on the wells and Argos FPU.

Cenovus told CBC News and other attendees at an event in November that first oil from West White Rose is expected in the second quarter of this year. The company also believes the project will keep it operating in the Newfoundland and Labrador province for at least another 14 years. Subscribers can learn more from a detailed project report.
Construction started in fourth-quarter 2025 on the subsea infrastructure for Shell's Sparta Field development, which includes iEPCI work for umbilicals, risers, flowlines and other components. These assets will allow production from the Sparta Field to reach one of Shell's semi-submersible platforms. Subscribers can learn more from a detailed project report.

TechnipFMC (London, England) added another line to its U.S. deepwater roster after BP plc (London) awarded it an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for the Tiber offshore oilfield development in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The project joins a list that includes work for Cenovus Energy Incorporated (Calgary, Alberta) and Shell plc (London) on some of those companies' heaviest deepwater investments. Cenovus, Shell Near Milestones in Gulf
Among the largest projects featuring TechnipFMC's services that are set to be completed this year is Cenovus' West White Rose drilling project offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. TechnipFMC's contract covers subsea tieback work for flowlines, umbilicals and other structures. Under construction since 2018, the development aims to produce 52,500 BBL/d, with a daily peak of 75,000 BBL/d, which will be transported to Cenovus' SeaRose floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit.Cenovus told CBC News and other attendees at an event in November that first oil from West White Rose is expected in the second quarter of this year.
