In July, China's overall power generation output reached 657.3 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), a slight increase of 0.6% year over year, which was 2.2 percentage points lower than the previous month. From January to July 2019, China's accumulative power generation output reached 4,000 billion kWh, an increase of 3% year over year, according to the Instant Statistic Report of the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
For different fuel types, the output of thermal and wind power was lowered by 1.6% and 10.8% year over year, respectively; that of hydropower was up 6.3%; that of nuclear power and solar power were up 18.2% and 13.2% year over year, respectively.
