Chile's ENAP Takes Refinery Offline to Cope With Low Demand, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Chile

Chile's ENAP is seeking to balance its refining production with the drop in demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On June 3, the company took its 115,700 barrel-per-day (BBL/d), Bio Bio refinery offline, following a 65% derate, in response to diminished demand; and in order to perform a 40-day planned turnaround on the facility's 50,300-BBL/d Crude Topping 1 unit. ENAP plans to keep the refinery offline until early August.

ENAP also has increased throughput at its 100,000-BBL/d Aconcagua refinery to full capacity, to compensate for the Bio Bio refinery and the 28,600-BBL/d Gregorio refinery, which has been offline since March 21.
