VeraSun to Delay Ethanol Plant Openings in Minnesota and Iowa

SUGAR LAND--June 17, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--VeraSun Energy Corporation (NYSE:VSE) (Brookings, South Dakota) has delayed the opening of two fuel-ethanol plants that are nearing construction completion in Welcome, Minnesota, and Hartley, Iowa. Although the plants will be completed as scheduled, production will not begin until corn and ethanol market conditions improve. Other small and midsize ethanol producers could be forced to shut down operations.
