SUGAR LAND--October 5, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--FirstEnergy Corporation (NYSE:FE) (Akron, Ohio) has hired Aker Construction Incorporated (Canonsburg, Pennsylvania), a subsidiary of Aker Solutions ASA (OSL:AKSO) (Lysaker, Norway), as the engineering and construction contractor to complete the partially constructed Fremont Energy Center. Aker Construction is to resume the construction this month of the 704-megawatt (MW), natural gas-fired combined-cycle power station in Fremont, Sandusky County, Ohio.
