Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--HBIS Group (Shijiazhuang, China) expects to begin construction soon on the second phase of its Laoting Iron and Steel Base project in China's Heibi province with a total investment of 26.277 billion yuan (US$3.6 billion), according to a company announcement. The Phase II project will be implemented in two steps.
The first step includes a blast furnace system, converter system, lime kiln system, sintering system and hot rolling production line. The second step consists of two electric furnaces, two endless strip production (ESP) hot rolling lines, and a 1,550-millimeter cold rolling line. Upon completion, the project will produce 2.46 million tons of molten iron, 4.05 million tons of molten steel, 3.92 million tons of steel and 4.75 million tons of sinter.
The first step is scheduled to start construction in early 2023 and be completed and put into operation in 2024. The second step will be implemented after the first step is completed.
