The ongoing construction of the PLTA Peusangan 1 hydropower project in Indonesia encountered several logistical and construction delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Construction of PLTA Peusangan 1 was put to a halt in March, but is now starting to gain back some traction through a skeleton construction and administration force. Despite the significant slowdown toward its completion, the 44.2-megawatt facility is expected supply renewable energy in the local Grid of Bireuen Aceh by June of 2022.
