CRUDE OIL
Energy Secretary: U.S. Considering Drawing Oil from Strategic Reserve - U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Monday that the U.S. is considering coordinating sales of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) with releases from other countries as prices soar during the war on Iran. Wright said that the U.S. was not considering imposing restrictions on exports of U.S. energy as a way to control prices. (Reuters)
Venezuela Resumes Exports of Diluted Crude Oil After 15-Month Pause - Venezuela this month resumed exports of a key crude grade that had not been shipped since late 2024, diluted crude oil (DCO), with U.S.-based Chevron sending a 500,000-barrel cargo to the U.S. Gulf Coast, a document from state energy company PDVSA seen on Friday showed. The grade, produced from a blend of extra heavy crude and imported heavy naphtha, is popular among refiners in countries including the United States and India. (Reuters)
LNG
Venture Global Pledges On-Time LNG Deliveries Amid Middle East Conflict - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer Venture Global has told customers of its Plaquemines export plant under development in Louisiana that it will start delivering contracted cargoes on schedule and at the already-agreed-upon prices, according to a letter seen by Reuters. The company wrote on Friday to buyers of Plaquemines Phase 1, which include British major Shell and Poland's Orlen, saying it remains committed to beginning long term deliveries from October 31 despite a surge in global gas prices because of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
