The synthetic and renewable diesel sector continues to show growth in Latin America with several projects in development in Brazil (the Nova Sao Joao Energia municipal solid waste-to-synthetic diesel project), Paraguay (ECB Group's- Omega Green renewable diesel and kerosene project) and Colombia (Value Skies'- Synthetic diesel project). The recently announced project in Paraguay alone would require an $800 million investment and will process soybeans and animal fat to produce 16,500 barrels per day (approximately 2.6 million liters per day) of renewable fuels for the aviation industry.
