Suncor Energy, on April 1, started a 60-day planned maintenance turnaround of five units at its 130,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Montreal, Canada

Suncor Energy, on April 1, started a 60-day planned maintenance turnaround of five units at its 130,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Montreal, Canada.

Marathon Petroleum, on April 4, began 35 days of planned maintenance on the 20,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater (USLD) and 20,000-BBL/d Gasoline Hydrotreater (GHT) units at its 92,000-BBL/d refinery in Canton, Ohio.

Pemex TRI's 150,000-BBL/d Combinada 2 (Crude 2) unit at its 270,000-BBL/d refinery in Cadereyta, Mexico, remains offline due to high fuel inventories. A restart date is unknown at this time. The 6,000-BBL/d Hydrofluoric (HF) Alkylation 1 Unit, 25,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker Unit (FCCU) 2 and the 120-ton-per-day Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) 5 also are offline. The 120,000-BBL/d Combinada 1 (Crude 1) is running at 110,000 BBL/d. The rest of the processing units are being kept at approximately 40% of normal capacity.

Pengerang Refining and Petrochemical's (PRefChem) 300,000-BBL/d RAPID Pengerang Refinery Project in Johor Baharu, Malaysia, continues trial production runs on the lone crude unit, followed by trial runs on 12 downstream units in phases. Contingent on trial run results by May, a gradual ramp-up is planned until full commercial production is achieved.

Ukrtatnafta PAO, on April 2, was forced to shut down its 240,000-BBL/d Kremenchug Refinery in Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict in the country.

YPF Sa, on April 3, was forced to shut down its 205,000-BBL/d La Plata Refinery in Argentina due to a power blackout. Restart procedures on major processing units are expected to begin in the next 24 hours.
