Civil construction of a new 100,000 square foot Butler steel building in Ferndale, Washington has already begun for the Grandview site.
The Grandview site was purchased in 2002 and sits on over fifteen acres of land with rail and highway access. Intentions are to relocate four of seven existing plants that operate in the Bellingham area to this site. Some equipment is scheduled to be moved in May or June of this year, while the remaining equipment will be relocated over a two-year period as current lease agreements expire. When completed, the Grandview site will be a conglomerate of manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, and corporate offices.
Later this year, International Absorbents plans to announce the site of a grassroot manufacturing complex to be located in the Southeast. Current reports indicate that Southeast Georgia is the likely location. This site will be similar in design and construction to the Grandview site, although the building will have a smaller foot print of approximately 80,000 square feet.
International Absorbents develops, produces, and markets environmentally friendly consumer pet care and industrial/commercial products that they have patented from derived and recycled renewable materials.
