Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--By the end of September, the power output of Datang International Power Generation Company Limited (Beijing) and its affiliates reached 86.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), an increase of 31.6% compared with the same period last year, and the total power sold to Datang Power's grid reached 81.5 billion kWh in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 31.9% year over year, Datang Power said on October 15, 2007.
According to Datang Power, the significant increase in the first three quarters of this year is mainly the result of growth in installed capacity in operation, service demand and the improvement of liability in unit operation. In the second half of 2006, new units from projects owned by Datang Power and its affiliates, such as Zhejiang Wushashan Power Generation Company Limited (Zhejiang, China) and Guangdong Datang International Chaozhou Power Generation Company Limited (Guangdong, China), were put into operation, greatly improving the overall power generation capability. New units from other projects, such as Longma, Tukahe of Lixianjiang Hydropower Company (Yunnan, China), were put into operation in July this year. In the other aspect, power demand in the company's service areas the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan, Shanxi, Gansu, Yunnan, Zhejiang and Guangdong grids, also remained on fast growth in the first three quarters of this year.
On October 15, 2007, Huadian Power International Company Limited (Beijing, China), another leading power producer in China, also announced its operation performance in the first three quarters. By the end of September 30, 2007, the power generation output of Huadian Power International and its affiliates reached 46.6 billion kWh, up 27.34% compared with the same period last year; and the total power sold to the grid reached 43.5 billion kWh in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 26.8% year over year. By October 15, the total installed capacity of Huadian Power International had reached 20.2 million kilowatts, and the installed capacity reached 16.1 million kilowatts.
