Hills Pet Nutrition Awaiting Green Light for $100 Million Expansion
Facility Group (Smyrna, Georgia) is assisting with preliminary design and cost estimates. Pending final approval, construction could begin this summer and be completed late 2009.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Hills Pet Nutrition Incorporated (Topeka, Kansas) plans to build a $100 million pet-food manufacturing plant in Emporia, Kansas, and is expected to go before the company's board for final approval sometime this spring. Hills' expansion plans call for a new 300,000-square-foot building on an 80-acre site that will produce dry pet-food products.
Hills Pet Nutrition considered several sites for the plant in Kansas and other states, including building near its office and manufacturing complex in Topeka.
Hills will continue to operate its global headquarters, pet nutrition center and canned-food manufacturing plant in Topeka where it employs 850 people.
