Two Power Plants Restore Power after Tuesday

CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--May 1, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The major power outage that hit at least 40% percent of Venezuela on Tuesday April 29, 2008, affected 13 states and the capital for nearly five hours, causing high-tension power lines to overheat. This forced Unit 2 at Planta Centro and two of the Guri hydroelectric power plant's powerhouses offline. The outage presumably was caused by a forest fire in Guarico State.
