Ozark Gas Transmission Plans New $400 Million Natural Gas Pipeline to Export Fayetteville Shale Gas

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Ozark Gas Transmission (Ozark) (Tulsa, Oklahoma), an affiliate of Atlas Pipeline Mid-Continent LLC (Tulsa, Oklahoma), a subsidiary of Atlas Pipeline Partners LP (NYSE: APL) (Moon Township, Pennsylvania) is planning to construct the new Tenark natural gas pipeline. The new $400 million plus natural gas pipeline will originate in White County, Arkansas, and extend 160 miles into Tennessee and terminate near Dyersburg, Tennessee, at an interconnection with Trunkline Gas compressor station #93.

The initial pipeline capacity is expected to be 700 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) with the potential to be expanded at a later date. The compression for the new pipeline will be supplied by a single new compressor station to be constructed near Jonesboro, Arkansas. The planned 20,000 horsepower compressor station will utilize two 10,000 horsepower compressor packages. The type of prime mover for the compressor packages has not been determined, but it will be either electric or turbine based.

The proposed 36" diameter Tenark Pipeline is designed to present Fayetteville Shale natural gas producers with rapidly growing production volumes with a new pipeline to export the new volumes.

Ozark is presently compiling the results of an open season that ended on May 15, 2008, and depending on the results intends to file for FERC permitting in late 2008. Construction on the new Tenark Pipeline is currently planned to begin in the first quarter of 2010 with a completion and in-service date targeted for November of 2010.
