CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--June 27, 2008--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A consortium of Brazil-based power companies will upgrade six generators, as well as velocity regulators and the telecommunication control system at the 1,050-megawatt (MW) Luiz Carlos Barreto de Carvalho hydropower plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The consortium is headed by Alstom Brasil (Sao Paulo), a subsidiary of Alstom SA (EPA:ALO) (Paris, France) and includes GE Hydro Inepar do Brasil SA, a subsidiary of GE Power (Atlanta, Georgia), itself a branch of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut).
