Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Houston, Texas)--PDVSA Gas (Caracas, Venezuela) has resumed activities in the Phase II expansion of the initial project Jose 250, which includes the installation of a fifth fractionation train at the Jose Liquid Natural Gas in Anzoategui, Venezuela. The project is expected to provide PDVSA with significant natural gas liquids available for export, as well as residue gas used to maintain and enhance oil recovery in eastern Venezuela.
The facility was built by PDVSA at the Jose area in the state of Anzoategui. The terminal has an initial capacity of about 200 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd), and it is expected to reach its maximum capacity of 250 mmscfd with the installation of the new fractionation train.
The Jose 250 project is part of the Venezuela's Siembra Petrolera plan, which began in 1998 and includes two different areas. The project was delayed for different reasons as part of its nationalization process but it is scheduled to begin construction in 2009 and be completed in 2013.
