Stoney Corners Windfarm Commences Phase II Construction

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Heritage Sustainable Energy LLC (Traverse City, Michigan) has commenced construction of the 14-megawatt (MW) expansion of the existing 5-MW Stoney Corners Windfarm in Richland Township, near Cadillac in Wexford County, Michigan. Initial operations commenced last fall, and the additional generation will commence operations later this year.

Heritage Sustainable Energy selected RePower Systems AG (ETR:RPW) (Hamburg, Germany) to provide seven 2-MW wind turbine/generator sets. Heritage selected Barton Malow Rigging (Oak Park, Michigan), a division of Barton Malow Company (Southfield, Michigan), to handle the installation. Barton Malow Rigging commenced construction May 19, 2009. Stoney Corner Phase II is expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of this year. Heritage hopes to further develop the site to a total generating capacity of 100 MW.
