Grangemouth Refinery Turnaround Schedule to Cover Three Areas

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--INEOS Group Limited's (Lyndhurst, England) 200,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Grangemouth refinery (Scotland) has scheduled a series of maintenance shutdowns for 2010 and 2012.

The refinery is divided into three main areas that never shut down together. Area 1 had its last major overhaul in 2007, and its next is expected to be in the first quarter of 2012. The 110,000-BBL/d Crude 3 and the 36,500-BBL/d Distillate Hydrotreater will be affected, among others.

Area 2 of the refinery is planning its major overhaul for 2012, after Area 1's turnaround has been completed. The main units involved during this downtime will be the 60,000-BBL/d Crude 1, the 40,000-BBL/d Crude 2, the 35,000-BBL/d Hydrofiner and the 37,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater.
