Overhaul Planned for Indian Oil Corporation's Digboi Refinery

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (BSE:530965) (IOC) (Mumbai) 13,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Digboi refinery, located in Digboi, in the state of Assam, India, is scheduled to perform an overhaul in the third quarter of 2010.

Digboi refinery is the oldest of the 10 refineries that the Indian Oil Corporation owns and operates in India. IOC has a combined refining capacity of 1.21 million BBL/d.

The turnaround will be carried out in all three refinery blocks: the Fuel Oil block, the Hydrotreater block and the Wax block, with 13 operational units in all. The shutdown will affect the 13,000-BBL/d Crude unit, the 3,400-BBL/d Delayed Coker, the 6,600-BBL/d Hydrotreater unit and the 1,800-BBL/d Catalytic Reformer, among others. The overhaul will start in the third quarter of 2010 and will last approximately 20 non-production days.

After next year's turnaround, authorities expect to keep most units online until the future overhaul planned for the third quarter of 2013.
