Hershey Set to Break Ground on $28 Million Pennsylvania Distribution Center Expansion

The plans call for the construction of a nearly 400,000-square-foot addition on the east side of the company's Eastern Distribution Center, which currently comprises more than 1.2 million square feet of building space, 46-foot-high ceilings and 163 dock doors.

The project is in the final design phase, and the application for the building permit will be submitted this week. The construction phase is scheduled to last between 10 and 11 months.

Kinsley Construction (York, Pennsylvania) is the general contractor and will subcontract trades utilizing local and regional resources.

The Palmyra facility was built in 1999 and is operated by Exel (Westerville, Ohio), a third-party logistics provider.
