Automotive Parts Supplier Plans Expansion in Mississippi

adding 40,000 square feet of floor space and installing press bays to increase plant production and capacity of automobile body parts.

Released Friday, March 05, 2004

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Unipres USA Incorporated (Portland, Tennessee) plans to expand operations at their Forest, Mississippi manufacturing plant (Plant 1059428, PEC 03002453).

Located on 1001 West Fountain Drive, plans are to expand the existing 330,000 square foot plant by adding 40,000 square feet of floor space and installing press bays to increase plant production and capacity of automobile body parts. Construction is anticipated to start by early summer of 2004, with completion in the fall of 2004.

Unipres U.S.A. Incorporated was first established in Forest City, Mississippi in January 2002 as an assembly plant. However, the press panels required for production had to be supplied by Unipres' U.S. and Mexican subsidiaries. This facility is being modified to undertake the manufacture and sale of ordered parts for mini trucks and minivans, plus the press additions will eliminate the need for some out sourcing.

Unipres U.S.A. Incorporated is a wholly owned Subsidiary of Unipres Corporation, which has supplied Japanese auto and appliance makers for more than 50 years. Unipres Corporation are currently involved in the manufacture and sale of automotive parts, electrical machinery parts, metal products, welders, dies, jigs, tools and maintenance and inspection of press machinery. Unipres U.S.A. Incorporated produces premium quality parts for the auto industry. Their capacities include stamping, machining and assembly of metal parts for the main portions of automotive body structures; pressing molded components and precision automatic transmission parts.
