M&G Polymers USA LLC (Apple Grove, West Virginia), a subsidiary of Gruppo Mossi & Ghisolfi (Italy), has completed the first two phases of a three phase PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) expansion at their 626 million pound per year PET plant in Apple Grove, West Virginia.
Construction for this $35 million project began last year and the third phase is expected to be complete in the first half of 2003. Chemtex International Incorporated (Wilmington, North Carolina) is providing E+P+C/M services. Phase three of this expansion has been delayed slightly as M&G is anticipating the completion of another large expansion at their Altamira, Mexico plant in the first quarter of 2003.
