Martco Partnership Set to Award Mechanical Construction Contracts for OSB Mill in Louisiana

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). By months end, Martco Limited Partnership, LLC, the manufacturing division of privately held Roy O. Martin Lumber, LLC (Alexandria, Louisiana), expects to award a major contract for the installation of key components of the company’s $185 million grassroot oriented strand board (OSB) mill in Oakdale, Louisiana. The company will award a multi-million dollar mechanical package for the installation of a forming line and 12 x 26 foot multi-opening press with fourteen openings that are being supplied by Dieffenbacher (Eppingen, Germany). As the project’s construction manager, Martco, along with the engineering firm , Mid-South Engineering (Hot Springs, Arkansas), will continue to award contracts for key segments of the project through the end of this year.

The construction phase of the project began this past May and will continue through the fall of 2006. Once fully operational, the plant’s output is projected to be approximately 800 million square-feet per year of structural panels.

Martco Partnership, LLC is controlled by Roy O. Martin Lumber Company, LLC, a family owned business with a history daring back to 1923. The company’s operations in Louisiana include an oriented strand board (OSB) mill in Le Moyen, a plywood mill in Chopin, a sawmill in Morrow, and timberland holdings of 598,000 acres.
