When the COVID-19 pandemic hit Brazil in March, Braskem was forced to lower production rates at all of its major petrochemical complexes. At present, the company's ethylene production is at normal levels, since Braskem was able to resume normal capacities at the 793.5 million-pound-per-year Ethylene I; 529 million-pound-per-year Ethylene II; and 225 million-pound-per-year Ethylene Green units in Triunfo, along with the 260 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit in Duque de Caxias.
In mid-July, Braskem had already been able to resume normal operations at its Santo Andre and Camacari sites.
