China's U.S. Ethane Imports Rise to Record HighsReuters reports that data from Kpler and Sublime China Information show that China imported around 582,000 barrels per day of U.S. ethane in April, the highest amount recorded.
Industrial Info Resources data show the largest ethane export terminal presently under construction in the U.S. is ONEOK's $500 million liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) export terminal in Texas City, Texas, which will have four docks and the capability of loading very large gas carriers (VLGCs) and very large ethane carriers (VLECs). The project is expected to be completed in 2028.

Canada Plans to Double Power Generation CapacityOn Thursday, Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney unveiled a C$1 trillion (US$729 billion) plan to double the country's power generation capacity by 2050. Carney said the bulk of the funds would be used for clean energy projects such as hydropower, nuclear power, and solar and wind power, with natural gas shoring up some of the load.

EIA: U.S. Natural Gas Production to Hit Record High in 2026In its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts U.S. dry natural gas production will rise from 107.7 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2025 to 110.6 Bcf/d in 2026 and 115.0 Bcf/d in 2027, marking record-high production for each year.
