Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Chevron Corporation's (NYSE:CVX) (San Ramon, California) Tamar offshore natural gas platform offshore Israel has been shut down, in accordance with instructions from Israel's Ministry of Energy, according to recent reports.

Hamas forces have fired dozens of rockets toward the platform, which was drained of fuel and temporarily taken offline at the start of the fighting, The Times of Israel reported Sunday. None of the rockets came close to striking the platform, according to the publication.

The Leviathan gas field, also operated by Chevron, remains online as it is located further north of the main conflict area and is expected to maintain, and even increase, natural gas supplies as needed.
