Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In response to Europe's renewable energy policies, refiners in the European Union are evaluating nearly $1.8 billion worth of green hydrogen projects over the next five years.
The majority of spending is planned for Germany. Among the projects, Royal Dutch Shell Plc (NYSE:RDS.A) (The Hague, Netherlands) is building a 10-megawatt Green Hydrogen Electrolysis Unit at its Rheinland Refinery, and plans to add a 100-MW unit by end of 2024, as part of a plan to develop the Rheinland Refinery into a green energy and chemicals park.
