July 25, 2022--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)-- Industrial Info is pleased to be presenting a complimentary webinar about the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry on Wednesday, July 27, at 10 a.m. CDT (11 a.m. EDT). The webinar also will be repeated for audiences in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Russia-Ukraine war has made liquefied natural gas (LNG) more important than ever on the global stage. Europe is learning to wean itself from Russian gas, causing a major ramp-up of gas-related infrastructure projects there and, for the first time, to import more LNG than pipeline gas. U.S. LNG producers are stepping up to the call, exporting increasing amounts of LNG to Europe rather than to Asia, where a majority of cargoes previously headed.
U.S. plans to increase new LNG production and export projects, which had ground to a halt with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic are now being revived. In June, the U.S.' leading LNG exporter, Cheniere Energy Incorporated (Houston, Texas) announced a positive final investment decision for its Corpus Christi Stage 3 project in Texas, which ultimately will produce 10.5 million metric tons per year of LNG. The construction of regasification infrastructure in other parts of the world such as Europe and Asia is making headway. Germany, on the receiving end of the Nord Stream 1 Pipeline that delivers gas from Russia, has no LNG infrastructure in place and is scrambling to install four floating regasification and storage units (FRSUs). The first of these is expected to begin operating later this year in Wilhelmshaven. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Terminals Project Database can click here for the detailed report.
Despite the long list of projects in the planning process, the LNG sector faces challenges as the future role of natural gas, along with all other fossil fuels, is in question due to greenhouse gas-reduction efforts.
In its upcoming webinar, Industrial Info will be discussing these trends as well as the projects that are likely to move forward in the near term.
Topics to be discussed in the webinar will include:
