Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Kinder Morgan Incorporated (NYSE:KMI) (Houston, Texas) took its 2.1 billion-standard-cubic-feet-per-day Permian Highway Pipeline (PHP) offline on the evening of Thursday, July 27, after experienced leak during tie-in work near the Double E section of the pipeline.
The company does not expect PHP to return to service fully until Tuesday, August 1, at the earliest, with the possibility of partial service on Monday, barring any unforeseen difficulties.
The Double E section of the pipeline crosses through the Permian Basin in West Texas.
The incident is under investigation, and Industrial Info will continue to monitor the situation and issue updates as necessary.
Kinder Morgan expects to finish construction toward the end of the year on a pair of compressor-station expansions on the PHP system, which is expected to add about 550 million standard cubic feet per day to the 2.1 million-capacity system.
