Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Vires Energy, a subsidiary of A Brown Company Incorporated (Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines), has canceled its plans for a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) terminal to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Batangas, Philippines.
Instead, the company will focus on developing a pair of combined-cycle power plant, comprising two units, each with a capacity of 450 megawatts, on a 15-hectare site in Batangas. Vires also is exploring ways to connect the units to existing gas pipelines to access gas from third-party LNG terminals and the Malampaya offshore field.
