SNNC (Gwangyang, South Korea), which was established as a joint venture of POSCO, has kicked off its construction for manufacturing nickel mattes. SNNC was engaged in production specialized only for ferronickel refining of stainless steel. After completion of the investment, SNNC's 75%-purity nickel mattes will be supplied to POSCO's Gwangyang Steel Mill to purify them up to 99%. These high-purity nickel materials will be used for manufacturing high-capacity batteries for electric vehicles.
