Qatar's North Field Expansion to Begin Production Mid-2026
- Qatar's North Field East natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG) expansion project will begin production in mid-2026, QatarEnergy (Doha, Qatar) Chief Executive Saad al-Kaabi said in a statement on Tuesday. State-owned QatarEnergy has signed a string of supply deals with European and Asian partners in its massive North Field expansion project, which is expected to produce 126 million metric tons of LNG per annum by 2027, up from 77 million tons per year now. Work to Begin on Large Indiana Solar Project
- Bechtel (Reston, Virginia) on Friday said it has received full notice to proceed from renewable energy company Doral Renewables (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) for the next three phases of the 1.3-gigawatt Mammoth Solar project in Indiana, one of the largest solar facilities in the US. The engineering and construction company will design, engineer, and build Mammoth South, Mammoth Central I, and Mammoth Central II, which will together deliver 900 megawatts of energy. Fire at Angola Offshore Oil Platform Injures 17
- Seventeen people were injured, four seriously, when a fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday at Chevron Corporation's (Houston, Texas) deep-water Benguela Belize Lobito Tomboco (BBLT) oil platform, Angolan authorities and the U.S. oil major said in statements. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. (Reuters)
