PBF Energy is planning to shut all units at its 165,000 barrel-per-day Paulsboro Refinery in New Jersey except for its lubes and asphalt operations, and will lay off 250 employees there, according to sources.
The Paulsboro refinery processes a variety of medium and heavy sour crude oils and predominantly produces gasoline, heating oil and aviation jet fuel.
The action comes as low fuel demand has beset the refining industry.
