Canada is expected to approve the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion project this week, according to an announcement. The Canadian government purchased the pipeline from Kinder Morgan with the intent of eliminating the bottlenecks that existed by expanding the oil pipeline. The expansion is designed to triple the capacity of oil flowing from Alberta to the west coast of British Columbia. Canada purchased the pipeline from Kinder Morgan for $3.4 billion.
