In the Gulf of Mexico in May 2019, six new wells began producing crude oil and natural gas, according to latest production figures collected by Industrial Info. This is up from three new producing wells added in April 2019. The six new wells added in May totaled nearly 5,000 barrels per day of new crude oil production.
These six new producing wells are tied back to five platforms, consisting of the new Appomattox Platform in the Mississippi Canyon Block owned by Shell Offshore Incorporated; the EW-305-A Platform owned by Talos Energy Offshore LLC; the EI-275-K Platform and EI-341-A Platform, both owned by Arena Offshore LP; and the SM-99-A Platform of Cox Operating LLC. The sixth well, owned by Cantium LLC is located at a wellhead platform which sends its product past the U.S. federal line in the Gulf.
