Written by Will Ploch, Assistant Editor-in-Chief for Industrial Info (Sugar Land, Texas)--NextEra Energy Incorporated (Juno Beach, Florida) followed strong results for the third quarter of 2025 with plans to build out its power-generation capacity from two non-fossil-fuel sources: solar and nuclear.
Industrial Info is tracking more than $87 billion worth of active and proposed projects from NextEra, more than $68 million of which is attributed to grassroot projects. Despite a less friendly atmosphere for renewable energy in Washington, D.C., NextEra continued to extend its leading role in low-carbon power during the third quarter, adding 3 gigawatts (GW) of capacity to its solar-generation and battery energy-storage system (BESS) backlog.
